5 Lemonade Recipes – Nimbu Pani 5 types. Refreshing summer drink

Lemonade might be the most popular of drinks of all times. Not only it is refreshing and tasty it’s very easy to make, and when you use your imagination, you can make a variety of lemonade. In this recipe I am showing you few of my favorite ways of making Nimbu Pani, some are very close to my heart as I grew up drinking them. The 5th version which I am showing you is what my father used to make and serve to all of us during the summers while watching Doordarshan shows. Even now when I drink it, it takes me back in time.

Ingredients to make the Sugar Syrup

  • 1 cup ‏Sugar
  • 1 cup ‏Water

Ingredients for the Water Melon, Pineapple, Cucumb, Rose and Mint Ginger Lemonade

  • 4 cups ‏Water Melon Cubes deseeded
  • 10 tbsp ‏Sugar Syrup
  • 10 tbsp ‏Lime Juice
  • 30 ‏Ice Cubes
  • 3 cups ‏Pineapple Cubes
  • 2 1/2 cup ‏Chilled Water
  • 2 large ‏Cucumber Diced
  • 1 tbsp ‏Fennel Seeds / Sauf
  • ½ tsp ‏Salt
  • ¼ tsp ‏Lime Zest
  • ¼ cup ‏Rose Syrup
  • 4-5 Large slices ‏Ginger slices
  • 10 leaves ‏Mint Leaves

 

Method for making the Sugar Syrup

  1. Place a vessel on a medium flame add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water and keep stirring till the sugar dissolves in the water completely. Wait till its comes to room temperature and transfer to a glass jar so you can store it in the refrigerator for longer durations.

Method for making the Water Melon Lemonade

  1. Add the 4 cups of diced and deseeded Water Melon in a blender and blend well.
  2. Pour the blended juice in a sieve to get clear water melon juice.
  3. In a mason jar add 4-5 ice cubes , 2 tbsp sugar syrup, 2tbsp lime juice and the water melon juice. Top it with some small watermerlon pieces.
  4. Stir well and serve chilled.

Method for making the Pineapple Lemonade

  1. Add the 3 cups of diced Pineapple in a blender and blend well.
  2. Pour the blended juice in a sieve to get clear Pineapple juice.
  3. In a mason jar add 3-5  ice cubes, 2 tbsp sugar syrup, 2 tbsp lime juice ,Pineapple juice and ½ glass of chilled water. Top it with some small Pineapple pieces.
  4. Stir well and serve chilled.

Method for making the Cucumb Lemonade

  1. Add the 2 large diced Cucumber along with the soaked 1 tbsp  fennel seeds (I have soaked the fennel seeds for about two hours in water) in a blender with ten pieces of ice and blend well.
  2. Pour the blended juice into a sieve to get clear Cucumber juice.
  3. In a mason jar add some 3-5 ice cubes, 2 tbsp sugar syrup, 2 tbsp lime juice, Cucumber juice and Pinch salt
  4. Stir well 
  5. add some lime zest and serve chilled.

Method for making the Rose Lemonade

  1. In a mason jar add some 3-5 ice cubes,  ¼ cup Rose Syrup, 1 tbsp sugar syrup,  2 tbsp lime juice, pinch salt and 1 glass of chilled water.
  2. Stir well and serve chilled.

Method for making the Mint Ginger Lemonade

  1. In your 3 tbsp of sugar syrup, add 4-5 Large slices ginger and 10 mint leaves and boil for 30 seconds. Then we turn off the flame and let the syrup sit for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In a mason jar add 3-5 ice cubes, Ginger and Mint infused sugar syrup, 2 tbsp lime juice, pinch salt, 3-4 slices of lime  and 1 glass of chilled water.
  3. Stir well and serve chilled.
