Its summertime, and your hand automatically goes for something cold to drink, something that will refresh you, but don’t quench your thirst  be for cold drinks or syrup based drinks, when you can make Aam Panna that will not only do wonders to your tastes buds but it also helps your body to cool down from within.

I also will show you how to make two variations, one the traditional way of making Aam Panna and the second Minty Aam Panna. You can store the panna mix in the refrigerator for days and just take 2 tbsp for 1 big glass of chilled water and blend and you can have instant panna whenever your heart desires. Ingredients for Traditional Aam Panna

  • 1/2 Big or 1/2 cup ‏Raw Mango
  • ½ cup ‏Sugar
  • ½ cup ‏Jaggery
  • 3-4 strands ‏Saffron / Kesar
  • ¼ tsp ‏Cardamom powder/ elaichi powder
  • ¼ tsp ‏Salt

Ingredients for the Minty Aam Paana

  • 1/2 Big or 1/2 cup ‏Raw Mango
  • ½ cup ‏Sugar
  • ½ cup ‏Jaggery
  • 10 leaves ‏Mint Leave
  • ¼ tsp ‏Black Salt / Kala Namak
  • ¼ tsp ‏Cumin powder / Jeera powder
  • ¼ tsp ‏Salt

Prepping for Aam Panna

In a pressure cooker add water and place a dry Steel bowl in it. Now keep the Raw mango in it.

Method for making the Traditional Aam Panna

  1. Pressure cook the raw mango and let it cool down.
  2. Now peel off the skin and remove the pulp in a blender, add sugar, jaggery, saffron, cardamom powder and salt.
  3. Blend well till smooth puree.
  4. Now store this Aam Panna mix and store it in a airtight container in the fridge.
  5. Whenever you want to make the Panna , just take two tbsp of the aam panna mix add 250ml of chilled water and blend well. Serve chilled.

Method for making the Minty Aam Paana

  1. Pressure cook the raw mango and let it cool down.
  2. Now peel off the skin and remove the pulp in a blender, add sugar, jaggery, Mint leaves, black salt, cumin powder and salt.
  3. Blend well till smooth puree.
  4. Now store this Aam Panna mix and store it in a airtight container in the fridge.
  5. Whenever you want to make the Panna , just take two tbsp of the aam panna mix add 250ml of chilled water and blend well. Serve chilled.
