Rava cake is a beautiful piece of art, and it’s absolutely delicious. And when you look at it you won’t believe that it can be made in a simple pressure cooker. Thats right you can make this mouthwatering rava cake in a pressure cooker. Rava cake consists of very fine quality of suji or semolina and few other ingredients which i am sure you will already find them in your pantry.
So without any delay lets see how this delicious Rava Cake is made.

Ingredients to make the Rava Cake
- 1 ½ cup Fine Sooji / Rava / Semolina
- ¾ cup Powdered Sugar
- ¼ cup Oil
- ½ cup Curd
- ⅛ cup Butter
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- ¼ tsp Baking soda
- 3 tbsp Tutti Frutti
- 2 tbsp Chocolate chips (optional)
- ¼ tsp Elaichi powder / Cardamom powder
1)In a large bowl add the Sooji which is also called rava add the powdered sugar, followed by the oil, then the butter, the curd and all of the milk.
2)Now using a balloon whisk i am going to mix it all together till the time all the ingredients are nicely mixed in.
3)Once mixed it up and keep it aside for the next 15- 20 minutes.
4)After 15 minutes the batter must have soaked all the liquid and is still and will be at a pouring consistency.
5)If your batter looks thick then just add 1- 2 tbsp of milk to it.
6)Now add the elaichi that is cardamom powder , followed by the baking soda and the baking powder.
7)Mix well going in one direction.
8)Add half some of the tutti frutti and add it to the batter.
And mix well as well.
9)Time to get the baking pan ready by generously applying some butter to the baking pan and make sure it covers all sides.
10)Then sprinkle some wheat flour and tap gently on the baking pan so that it gets spread evenly.
11)And now pour our batter in the baking pan
12)and tap it 2-3 times gently on the counter so any extra air can escape.
13)Lets make our cake pretty so sprinkle some tutti frutti on top along with some chocolate chips…
14)Turn on the flame keep the cooker with a stand in it and then cover it up. remove the whistle and let it heat up for the next 5 minutes.
15)Make sure the flame is on low.
16)After 5 minutes open the lid and very carefully place the baking pan inside on top of the stand. And cover it up and cook on low flame for the next 40-45 minutes.
Also guys you must have noticed that i didn’t suggest to add any salt or sand or water in the cooker, that is because you don’t really need it.
Just make sure that the flame is on low and don’t forget to check your cake after half an hour and you will be fine.
17)After 45 minutes and it’s time to pierce a toothpick and check if nothing gets stuck on it, which will mean that the cake is ready.
18) now cover the lid back on and turn off the flame and let it sit like that for the next 5 minutes.
19)After 5 minutes open the lid and remove the cake out very carefully very gently and let the cake cool down a bit , then run the knife around the corners
20)and place a plate on top and flip the cake. Now place another plate and flip it again.
